Default Extremely fun high damage mele N/D you have to try this! (for RA)

I'll start with the build first, and no i didnt come up with it.

Necro/Dervish

15 Death
9 Soulreaping
9 scythe mastery
8 Earth prayers

Contagion(E)
Dark aura
Plague touch
Wearying strike
Signet of agony
Signet of lost souls
mystic regeneration
Ressig

Basis of the build is synergy between Contagion and dark aura. If you get a condition on you Contagion triggers transfering that conidtion to nearby foes it sac's 5% hp which in turn triggers Dark aura for 50 armor ignoring damage.

Spike sequence goes as follows - with contagion, darkaura, and mystic running

Wearying strike (40ish scythe dmg+deepwound+weakness+50 dmg from dark aura) -- plague touch (Contagion only triggers when NEW conditions are applied)--Signet of agony (you sac 10% from agony, dark aura triggers, you sac from Contagion at the same time, dark aura triggers again, bleeding is spread)---- follow with another wearying strike for same result as above

This attack sequence will do ~300dmg +deepwound+bleeding+weakness

If you wanted to just do a quick spike as the previous sequence takes a few seconds you could simply open with weaying and immediatly follow with signet of agony this results in ~200ish dmg plus deepwound bleeding and weakness and takes about 1 second to execute

Funny thing in Randoms i have actually solo'd rangers by using nothing but plague touch. run up they put conditions on me like say if there using apply poison when they do, dark aura triggers and they get the condtion back i plauge touch they recondition me dark aura triggers again and so on till they die LOL. It is also kind of amusing when shadow prison ganksins attack me they often die themselves. Every condition they apply to me they get applied to them and at the same time take darkaura damage.

Overall this build has been more fun than ive had for a while in randoms. My survivability isnt too bad either with mystic giving me +9hp regen. So give this a try its a blast.

Oh and btw i noticed a strange thing about plague touch for some reason it will always plague touch bleeding before weakness even if i apply weakness to myself last it will always transfer the bleeding first oh well...

**Have not tested this on a Dervish/necro although now that i think about that could work also you would lose some damage from dark aura and sac more life but might make it up with having higher armor you'd also gain another skill slot as you'd drop signet of lost souls**

definatley going to try this build in AB and replace rez sig with crippling sweep or aura of thorns. this is one of the best ideas for a build ive seen on these forums...not to mention its 100% original.

wow....i ran this build in AB and replaced res sig with armor of sanctity....this build owns. go stand in the middle of a mob (especially a mob of minions) with contagion, dark aura, armor of sanctity and mystic regen on and hit signet of agony for MASSIVE AoE. then hit wearying strike for even more...i love this build.

I suppose an Enchanting modded Scythe is the best option for this build? Making them last longer..
Also... Do you think a Sup Soul Reaping Rune would make you more vulnerable or not? Less health to sac but also less health to go with.

Deffo going to try this one as it sounds pretty devestating

I've been trying this out in ra and it is very nice. Using Signet of Agony comes at a hefty price: 15% of your health + 40 from Dark Aura, but it's oh so worth it. I replaced Signet of Lost Souls with Aura of Thorns because energy was not a huge issue and it helps snare those runners.

One fun aspect is that I had a trapper get everything back to him + damage from Contagion + Dark Aura, very cool to see him limp away from his own traps.

Edit:
Oh, another fun experience with this build was in AB. My team got overrun by a mob and I was attacked by a couple of assassins, dervishes and warriors. They did kill me, but since they're so condition happy, every single one of them limped away from my body with all kinds of conditions on them. Good times.

The bonus scythe 'icy soulbreaker of enchanting' works great with this build.

I'm impressed. I actually feel the need to deprive myself of sleep to try this build out! Sigh, sometimes being an avid Necro fan is just too much.

I've been looking for a solid Contagion build but have not found one until now!

Can't wait to test 'er out!

*gigglefit*

Edit: Have you tried throwing in Reap Impurities in place of Signet of Lost Souls to help counter the self-saccing? I'm not quite sure what the energy management deal would be after that but I think it would be worth a try, yes?

Quick question:

Would Dark Aura trigger twice if you had minions + infuse condition?

[skill]Infuse Condition[/skill][skill]Animate Bone Minions[/skill]

The only guild wars forum i read is guildwarsguru. I saw somthing similar to this being ran in randoms. I dont remmeber the name of the guy was was running it. There is a reason that in the the first line of my post i said "no i didn't come up with it," in order to avoid being bombarded with the annoying "i though of that first" and "ur build isnt original" type posts.

No it wouldn't afaik.
Dark Aura gets triggered by the life sac of Contagion.
Since you don't suffer the conditions that are required to let Contagion sac your life, thereby triggering Dark Aura and instead transfer it to a minion it's pretty logic that the entire build will fail.
